Burning That Stomach Flab

By James Norton

It is just right for everyone to hate that abdominal fat. Aside from its weight, it usually gets you in trouble of being late as you cannot wear those jeans that you've been wearing months ago. Another reason for you to hate that bouncing belly fat is the health risk. Studies show that people who have excess fat around their stomach are prone to have bad heart conditions and diabetes. Eliminating the excess load in stomach can improve your health, appearance and self-esteem.

Changes in Diet

If you've got lots of flab, the first thing that may come to your mind is to change your eating habits and reduce your food intake. To lose a pound in a week, you would need to deduct 500 calories from your daily consumption as one pound is equivalent to 3500 calories. Even if you're trying to lose weight, it doesn't mean that the weight you've lost will be deducted to your stomach flab. Remember that the body will let go of the fat on the part that it wants. Your body will decide which fat should go first and it is important for you to be patient about this process.

You will also have to undergo a big change when it comes to the food you eat. It is recommended for you to eat low-calorie foods with enough nutrients to keep you going for the rest of the day. A good choice would be fruits, vegetables, lean meat, whole grains and low-fat cheese. Stop munching on foods with high calorie and fat content such as rice, pasta, white bread, pork fat and sugary-sweet snacks to help you out on your endeavor. Doing this guarantees losing fats on different parts of the body including your stomach.

Daily Exercise

Burn down the excess calories to help your body to get rid of those fats. This can be done by regular exercise which can be perspiring enough to dissolve these fats and be excreted by your body. For faster weight loss, do a combination of cardiovascular activity, strength and endurance training. Try brisk-walking or running for 30 minutes to 1 hour and same amount of time should go for weights. Ab crunching can be good for your abdomen but it doesn't burn the fat in your stomach. It only helps your body to build some strong muscles within that area.

Another reason why you have to exercise daily is to increase your metabolism. This will help your body to easily burn down fat and difficult to gain it back. Cortisol is a hormone being released by the body to give you an additional defense during a stressful event. The problem with this is that, if the body releases more cortisol, the more belly fat you will likely to have. Managing stress, healthy dieting and an intense work out can counter the effects of cortisol, making you feel better and look better with the belly fat gone.
